Seriously.
I was a roller skating fanatic. Growing up in Baltimore City, we would skate up and down the streets of row homes.
It was my first chance to express my individuality.
I would paint, write poetry and even glitter my skates.
No, I never joined the Roller Derby but I was so inspired by Drew Barrymore's debut as a director with "Whip It", I had to post about it...
I took Liza to see this quirky girl movie and was so impressed with the message that I try to teach and empower my daughter with.
BE DIFFERENT, It's OK not to fit in. Not to confirm to other peoples' vision of what you should be. Be a leader, not a follower. Be the first to start a trend in your OWN funky way.
I don't think I can remember any of "the popular" girls names that I went to school with or where their lives landed. Although I wish them well.
I think they actually helped me become the person I am today.
I have a wonderful assortment of artistic, creative ladies in my life who are leaders, authors, business owners who love their individuality, and mine! "Beautiful Mess" and all....
Here is something I added to my mess this weekend...
I am having trouble fitting my pumps in the skate though...
